Employee Profile

James Ryan

"The most rewarding part is a beautiful finished project. It's fun to look back at what we accomplished and realize 'we made that!'. These jobs will live on long after I'm gone."

When did you start at R&R and in what position?
I’ve been with the company since 1989 and I started as a laborer.

What’s your current position?
I am currently Senior Foreman, and have always worked out in the field.

What brought you to R&R Window and what keeps you here?
Family ties brought me to R&R. The company has taken care of me over the years.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
I enjoy being in the woods, hunting, boating, fishing or relaxing at the lake with my wife and family. I am a proficient fisherman and I enjoy hunting (not as productive as fishing, sadly). I can certainly attest to the fact that patience and perseverance are two qualities that are necessary in this line of work, as well as in my spare time.

What’s a typical day like for you?
My typical day begins by 4am with a long commute. At the job site, I’m required to manage and lead coworkers, as well as troubleshoot and attend contractor meetings. All of this, while continuing to make progress on the job.

How would your coworkers describe you?
I think that my coworkers respect me, at least I hope they do. I know we don’t always see eye to eye, but I’ve got their backs and I know they’ve got mine.

What do you like about your job?
The most rewarding part is a beautiful finished project.  It’s fun to look back at what we accomplished and realize “we made that!”  These jobs will live on long after I’m gone.
