Hayward Landing

Hayward Landing

Hayward Landing rests on a river bank and was a mill until being converted into apartment units in the 1970’s. During a recent renovation, we were contracted to replace a total of 189 windows in mostly occupied apartments. The Graham’s Steel Replica Series SR6700 was chosen to preserve the original aesthetic of the building, while modernizing the thermal, structural, and noise canceling performance of the windows. We worked diligently to coordinate an efficient schedule with the other project members and maximize utilization of the swing stages.

Approximately 50% of the window openings were located directly over the river. Our installation team utilized swing staging which could be lowered from the roof down to the windows, allowing them to work over the water. We shared the staging with an abatement contractor, who was required on the project to remove the old windows due to lead and asbestos concerns. All windows removed had to be replaced on the same day, and there was a limited time before the swing stages had to be disassembled to make way for the roofing contractor.
